Media release – AGM Invite Saturday 17th November

IS THE CITY WORKING FOR US?  IS THERE PROGRESS?
 
 
Tariffs, excessive water charges and the cost of municipal services to the ratepayer and resident of Cape Town will be on the agenda of the AGM of THE GREATER CAPE TOWN CIVIC ALLIANCE (GCTCA) at its ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING to be held on Saturday 17 November at the Rondevlei Nature Reserve Auditorium at 10:00.  
 
Speakers at the AGM will be Alderman Nielsen, Deputy Executive Mayor of Cape Town and Ms Vanessa September of the Save Maidens Cove campaign.  
 
The GCTCA is an umbrella body of various ratepayer bodies, civil society organisations and environmental groups.  This body of volunteers will report back on activities for the year and sketch a plan going forward in a changing municipal environment.  The GCTCA will also unveil its manifesto for the new Mayor of Cape Town, who enters his term with new opportunities to make Cape Town a safe and affordable home for all its people.
 
All  Ratepayer and Civic associations as well as those who are not yet members but have an interest in defending the environment, democratic space and meaningful public participation are welcome to attend.
 
The media is invited to capture the moment and be report to the citizens.
